Changes keep spreading across the codebase. Important behavior is poorly tested. A rewrite is under discussion, but the team needs a clearer picture of its cost and alternatives. Or a migration has begun and needs experienced implementation support.
Choose a boundary before changing the architecture
We identify one data-access path, service boundary, feature area, or dependency that is slowing delivery. We document the current behavior and add appropriate checks before changing it. That creates a first milestone the team can review independently.
Typical deliverables
A scoped engagement may include a codebase assessment, prioritized changes, characterization tests, a refactor or migration, and release notes. The statement of work defines which of those you are buying and how completion will be assessed.
Make the handoff usable
Architecture decisions, remaining risks, and operating instructions belong with the code. The goal is for the team to understand the change and be able to maintain it after the engagement.
Ways to work together
A diagnostic is useful when the scope is uncertain. A defined migration can be a fixed-price project. Ongoing work in an evolving backlog can be hourly engineering support.
